Inscriptions: no.22 2026

The Inscriptions series consists of stone sculptures engraved with traces taken from images of a Wilson cloud chamber. The cloud chamber is used as an observational device in which the trajectories of subatomic particles become visible. On each piece fragments selected from these images are corresponding to one second of recorded particle movement. Each basalt element contains inscriptions derived exclusively from that single second.

Selected traces are transferred onto tone using sandblasting and then engraved by hand with high precision. The incisions are filled with pigment and sealed with resin, stabilizing the engraved lines as permanent material traces.

Each sculpture from the Inscriptions series functions as an individual record produced through the same procedure. The works are conceived as a series: single elements remain partial, while the repetition of precisely engraved records establishes the work as a structured set of inscriptions fixed in stone.
